What HoodApp needs
A HoodApp ID, public cryptographic information and technical information necessary to operate messaging.
What HoodApp does not ask for
No email address or real name is required. The current app does not require contacts, location, camera or microphone access.
Temporary messages
Messages have a maximum lifetime of five minutes. Expired messages are designed to become unavailable and be removed from active message storage.
Inactive accounts
Accounts are designed to be automatically removed after five days of inactivity.
Third-party infrastructure
Infrastructure providers may process technical information necessary to provide the service. The HoodApp website uses Cloudflare Pages and the current messaging backend uses Railway; further details are stated in the Privacy Policy.
